Last week the Colonial Brewing Co. boys were representing at the Perth Royal Beer Show 2015 Awards dinner. WA’s premier beer competition was even MC’ed by our own one and only Head of Brewing,  Justin Fox (pictured second from right).

The competition was classed as one of the ‘toughest’ fields in the event’s history. Chief judge Sean Symons said it “has been an exemplary year for beer – demonstrating that WA is an empirical part of the beer renaissance.”

Only 22 commercial Golds were awarded across over 300 commercial entries. Of these – Colonial was awarded three golds! We also took home three silvers and three bronzes. They say good things come in threes and the team was very proud of the performance.

“It’s a great result that justifies the long hours and hard work the team have put into it” commented Justin. “The entire team loves what they do and dig deep every day, it’s a great reward for us all to see the quality we strive for is recognised by our judging peers.”

What’s more, we were just shy of winning the Best WA Brewery Category. Colonial was first runner up, behind Mash Brewing which took out the trophy alongside a great performance that also included Best WA Beer of the Show.
