It’s no secret that Colonial Leisure Group’s island retreat Orpheus is for those who appreciate the finer things in life – while in a spectacular tropical setting. See for yourself here. Over an extended weekend this October, guests of the lodge can add musical appreciation to the island hideaway’s allure.
Presented by Orpheus and the Australia Festival of Chamber Music, The Sound of Orpheus will see the prestigious Goldner String Quartet perform a series of twilight recitals with a backdrop of golden sands, turquoise waters and serene sunsets.
The Goldner String Quartet is one of the world’s finest – acclaimed both in Australia and internationally, the quartet’s members – Dene Olding & Dimity Hall on violins, Irina Morozova on the viola, and Julian Smiles on cello – are the same that first formed the group in 1995. They have achieved widespread recognition both for their solo performances and careers in Australia (including the position of resident quartet at the award-winning Australian Festival of Chamber Music) and as a string quartet that is favourably compared with the best in the world.
This bespoke event will be experienced by just 24 guests over the weekend of October 3 – 6, in combination with Orpheus’ other package inclusions – ‘laid-back luxe’ accommodation, gourmet meals, regional wines and beers and plenty of island-style activities to occupy in the daylight hours.
