The Royal on the Waterfront in East Perth has won a Gold Plate award for best Restaurant within a Tavern Country/City/Metro for the 2nd year running. The waterfront eating and drinking establishment has won the accolade in both 2013 and 2014 in the well-regarded Catering Institute of Australia’s hospitality industry awards.
The awards have been rewarding excellence in the Western Australia hospitality scene since 1967, and stretch across a very wide range of categories – from best wine list and best fine dining to best unlicensed Asian cuisine and best breakfast.
The Royal is a perfectly positioned venue that caters to all tastes and serves up delicious food from breakfast to dessert. Its lunch and dinner menu traverses the best of surf and turf as should be expected from an eatery next to the water, showcasing fabulous seafood dishes including fresh oysters with raspberry vinegar and ginger, seared king scallops on wakame, pear, enoki mushroom & pine nut salad with citrus wasabi mayo, as well as top WA meats like grilled sirloin from Cape Grim.
Asher Wright, manager of the Royal, attended the black tie awards night on Monday 20th October at the Perth Convention Centre and said there was a massive turn out from restaurants across the state.
“It was an honour to be nominated, let alone to take out the win for a second year in a row” Asher said. “The kitchen and floor staff have kept up the standards from last year and we’ll be looking at a third year so we can go for the Hall of Fame honours!”
