Oktoberfest has been held in Munich since 1810. Just 204 years later (!) Portsea Hotel has jumped on the beer wagon. Saturday October 18th was the date of the inaugural Portsea Hotel Oktoberfest – but don’t worry if you missed out, they are planning on making it an annual event from now on!
The Portsea version squeezed the usually 16-day festival into one, and everyone in attendance was in the mood to make the most of it, with lots of guests taking advantage of the chance to dress up in dirndl’s and lederhosen!
100% Entertainment came on board to run the event and they really captured the Oktoberfest atmosphere by replicating the beer hall vibe with a large tent covering the entire Portsea Hotel beer garden. In true Oktoberfest style, the tent was filled with tables and the obligatory beer maidens serving up drinks, pretzels and bratwursts!
Beer fans were treated to a special Colonial Brewing Co. brew served in steins, of course, and travel was taken care of with buses picking up and dropping off throughout the day.
Thanks to Shane Devlin Photography for capturing the event – you can check out the pictures here.
