Everyone’s favourite mollusc is available for bouts of indulgent shucking at the Oyster Frenzy evenings in Melbourne! While not home to an Oyster Festival like many other cities, Melbournites are still big consumers of the delicacy, so we reckon year-round feasting opportunities featuring oysters from the best inlets in Australia will suffice!
Choose from two great locations – South Yarra’s The Botanical and Brighton’s Half Moon – and four dates between now and the end of the year to gratify your epicurean cravings. Both venue’s frenzies run from 7 till 9pm and offer unlimited freshly shucked oysters, hot and cold canapés, unlimited bubbles (and other Tyrell’s wines) and unlimited beer (Colonial Kolsch.) Atmosphere and mood is provided by live entertainment of the jazz and blues variety – and there’s been everything from marine-themed ice sculptures to oyster eating competitions! (The next oyster eating comp is at The Botanical on 23 July.)
