At South Melbourne gastro pub Lamaro’s, they love a bit of healthy, delectable competition – and they know their patrons do, too! From August 5th till September 30th they are ramping up the stakes with a bit of rivalry in the kitchen. The head chef and sous chef will be battling it out for the title of Lamaro’s best chef – and you can have your very own Gary, George or Matt moment (cravat optional).
Each Tuesday night from 6pm, diners at Lamaro’s will get a voting card so they can specify the dishes they deem most worthy of their praise. This will continue each Tuesday for seven weeks – at the end of which the votes will be tallied and Lamaro’s best chef will be determined by popularity of their dishes!
You may be thinking that a sous-chef win could mean disaster, in the oft inflated-egoism of the commercial kitchen – but Lamaro’s are adamant that the boys will keep the competition civil and take the result in their stride. A sous-chef win won’t mean the partnership is over, nor a reversal of positions – just some serious bragging rights!
To have your say, come by for dinner on a Tuesday, and grab two courses for just $39 per person. (Reservations recommended.) Just for participating in the voting, diners will go in the draw to win a $200 Lamaro’s voucher – the lucky winner will be drawn at the end of the seven weeks.
