South Melbourne’s favourite pub reopens as Lamaro’s Hotel. Nestled in leafy Cecil Street, Lamaro’s Hotel is all about the classics; everyone’s favourite pub meals done just right using the best of local produce.

Start off your meal with a Ploughman’s plate, piled high with Australian cheese, cured meats, pickles and artisan bread. Add the freshest local oysters, shucked to order every day and served natural or with your choice of mignonette or green tabasco. Follow that up with our heirloom beetroot and orange salad.

For mains, we’ve got something to suit every occasion. Looking for a quick bite at the bar? South Melbourne’s favourite veal schnitzel is back, served with double cream mash and crunchy slaw. After something lighter? Try our house-made ricotta gnocchi or our steamed, market-fresh fish.

Our steak selection is carefully curated to present the best beef Australia has to offer. From pasture-fed Tasmanian scotch fillet to our Porterhouse, dry aged in-house for up to 40 days, all of our steak is locally farmed. If you’re really, really hungry, our 1.2kg prime rib will do the trick. Grain fed and aged for 30 days, then cooked to perfection just as you like it and served with your choice of sauce – just like all our steaks.

Finish up with our classic dark chocolate Bavarian, updated with a gooey caramel centre, or our delicious cheese selection.

Heading up the venue is the smiling face of Sandy Ingram. A fixture in the South Melbourne dining scene, Sandy last greeted diners at Lamaro’s Hotel back in 2012. After a stint just down the road at O’Connell’s, where he notched up awards for their wine list, Sandy returns to Lamaro’s Hotel to make the pub a local gem once more.
