Aston Club is a mobile app that is quickly becoming the new way to pay for dinner and drinks. If you haven’t heard of Aston Club before, don’t be dismayed. While it sounds exclusive (and it did start out as invite only) it’s now available for free download on Apple and Android devices. Aston Club is a mobile payment system enabling users to open a tab at bars and restaurants via their smartphone, set a limit (if desired) for how much they want to spend and simply close the tab on their phone to pay as they leave.

Aston Club was established in 2013 by technology entrepreneurs Matthew Khoury and Nicholas Birrell – two friends from Adelaide who came from hospitality backgrounds themselves and saw a clever way to fix some of the key efficiency problems in the industry for both customers and businesses. With the Aston Club app, punters can say goodbye to forgetting their credit card behind the bar, and table turnover becomes a more streamlined affair as wait staff no longer have to spend time working out the bill on a busy shift.

It’s been dubbed the Uber of the hospitality industry, and includes some features not dissimilar to the game-changing ride-sharing app: it’s an effective payment method that saves time, offers added security and enables more personalised service, all with a unique, classy subtlety.
