Half Moon re-opens after COVID lockdown with a considered new look

BACK TO NEWS

A Bayside local since the 1960s, Brighton’s much-loved pub, Half Moon, capitalised on the extensive lockdown period using the time to inject some tender love and care into the historic venue.

Led by renowned Melbourne stylist, Anna Roberts, who embraced the warm, traditional pub atmosphere with her iconic styling. The refurbishment marks an exciting new era for Half Moon, launching itself with a renewed aesthetic overdo and reimagined food and beverage menu.

The Dining Room, fitted with soft leather banquettes, thonet seating and rich textiles reminiscent of a classic pub; is somewhere you want to sit all afternoon with your loved ones. The beer garden opens with bi-fold doors to an area with expansive windows that fill the atrium with natural light by day and a warm and cozy setting by night. The interiors of the pub were all handpicked by Anna Roberts and are intended to evoke that cathartic feeling of fond childhood memories. European inspired mosaic tiles, soft sage green walls and rustic hand-selected pieces create an inviting pub feel that mirrors intently through the new menu.

Our new head chef, Andrew Braham, brings with him a wealth of experience from the UK and here in Aus. He is passionate about tailoring a menu that fits the feel of the new pub while using locally sourced produce. Pub classics like Beef Wellington, Chicken Parma, Ceasar Salad and Ploughman’s lunch are all among the refined pub menu as well as rotisserie heroes and of course a traditional Sunday roast.

Together with our new menu, we have a selection of cocktails from our carefully curated cocktail list. We have a spirit offering that is heavily focused on Gin and an extensive wine list, which showcases some of the best Australian and Victorian produced wine.
