Breakfast at the Bot

BACK TO NEWS

On Wednesday 28th May the Botanical unveiled its new Breakfast & Brunch Menu. Whether you’re after a light breakfast on your way to work, something classic after a walk around the Tan or a long laughter-filled brunch with friends, the new Breakfast & Brunch menu will serve you well.

Fans of grains and muesli won’t be disappointed with fragrant choices such as bircher with rosewater plums, spiced quince porridge sweetened with agave, granola with cardamom baby figs and pomegranate, warm coconut and chocolate chia pudding and gluten free muesli that incorporates puffed rice, quinoa and passion fruit curd.

The menu pays attention to the details of the new classics of Melbourne’s brunch culture like the Eggs Benedict with house smoked ham hock and a cider hollandaise, or the Shakshouka – an Israeli baked eggs dish with piquillo sofrito, chorizo and white beans served with house cornbread, pea tendrils, Meredith goats cheese, Aleppo pepper and tomato kasoundi. To satisfy the sweet tooth, the Lacy Pancakes (crepes with lemon, vanilla, honey and almond ricotta, and brioche crumbs) will do perfectly, and for something different go for a distinctly oriental breakfast bent with the Crab Omelette.

If the line between breakfast and brunch is blurred (as it so often is) – chow down on crispy soft shell crab on brioche, chilli salt pork ribs, a poached chicken and green tea soba noodle salad or the classic Croque Monsieur. The drinks menu offers a range of leaf, flower and root teas and of course Dukes Botanical House Blend coffee – and with Kir Royals on the menu there’s no guilt in partaking in a pre-midday cocktail.
